With friendly attitude to the nature
Hot-dip galvanizing is one of the most environmental-friendly methods of corrosion protection for steel. The steel itself is even the most recycled material in the world. At SIGNUM, we want to promote these qualities even further so we strive to reduce the carbon footprint of our plants, services and products. All of our facilities comply with the strict EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) criteria. We continuously modernize our plants and production processes to make the most efficient use of materials, resources and energy. We install powerful heat exchangers in our galvanizing plants which allow us to use up to 80% of the residual heat from the galvanizing furnace fume duct to heat the water in the pickling baths. Of course, we dispose of the waste and chemicals in an environmentally friendly manner. We filter wastewater, using the rainwater and reclaimed water which reduce the energy requirements for heating and maintaining the equipment. We are gradually equipping all the facilities with the forklifts for natural gas.
